We are an ecumenical project that connects Rhawnhurst seniors to services that will help them stay independent in their home as they age. When there are gaps in service - needs that aren't being met like snow shoveling or home repair - we have funds to assist seniors quickly.
Description:
United Way of SE PA, Catholic Human Services and Jewish Federation of Greater Phil. have teamed up to sponsor the Rhawnhust NORC*. (NORC stands for "naturally occurring retirement community".) We know that seniors want to live in their home as they age and we will help them remain indepedent in their Rhawnhurst neighborhood.
History:
We started working in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood in July 2005. We have a 3-year grant from Mellon Mid-Atlantic Charitable Trust for this project focusing on the needs of adults,60 years and older, living in their homes in Rhawnhurst.
