Community Accountants' mission is to ?provide pro-bono accounting related services through accountant volunteers to help non-profit organizations, arts and culture, education, and the economically disadvantaged community of southeastern PA become financially literate.? CA teaches nonprofit organizations how to handle their own financial records and reports effectively, therefore teaching the organizations to become financially self-sufficient. History:
CA was in incorporated in May 1974 to provide community-based organizations with accounting assistance. CA was the first organization in the US to provide pro bono accounting services to the nonprofit community, and to-date there are only 3 in the US.

The founder, John Paul Dalsimer, established CA in response to his work in the community. He noted that while there were many groups with effective neighborhood programs, their lack of accounting and business skills put the programs in jeopardy. CA is the only organization in the Southeastern PA providing pro bono accounting-related services to nonprofit organizations.
