Founded in 1968, Center in the Park is community-based nonprofit community center in Northwest Philadelphia primarily focused on the needs of older people. The Center fosters respect, independence, and personal growth for each individual.
Description:
The Center's goals are achieved through various opportunities. The program is meant to expand the ambitions, capabilities and creative capacities of older adults. Academic, leisure, health and life enrichment courses and activities are offered in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Counseling, information referral and medical services are provided. The Center has a computer lab and state of the art fitness center. It offers hot meals and transportation to members unable to use public transportation.
