CONTACT provides 24 hour Crisis Intervention, information and referral for Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. CONTACT offers the 24 hour Addictions Hotline of New Jersey for information and referral to the full range of treatment options throughout the State. Our Telephone Reassurance Program provides daily phone calls to the elderly who live alone in Camden and Gloucester Counties. All calls are free and confidential. Service in Spanish is provided.
Description:
Trained volunteers help callers deal with such issues as drug and alcohol abuse/dependence, domestic violence, family relations, suicide, depression and lonelinees. Information and referrals to community resources are provided. Elderly persons who live alone are contacted by volunteers 7 days a week to check on their well-being and call for help if needed. Bilingual service (Spanish/English) is available. Service in 139 other languages is also available, as is TTY for the deaf and hearing impaired.
